Introduction

This Website is a mainly pictorial record of a Holiday in North Wales (in September 2023) based in Llandudno and organised by Rail Discoveries. My wife & I travelled up to North wales by road from our home in Towcester visiting the Glyn Valley Railway at Chirk and Bettws-y-Coed on the way. During our stay at Llandudno we visited Caernarfon & The Welsh Highland Railway, had a free day when we visited Conwy and the Great Orme Tramway. On the next day we visited Llangollen for a trip on the Llangollen Canal and Llangollen & Corwen Railway. This was followed by a trip on the Ffestiniog Railway (from Bleanau Ffestiniog to Porthmadog) and then a visit to Portmeirion. On the return journey home from Llandudno we called in at the Trevor Basin of the Llangollen Canal to view the Pontycysyllte Aqueduct and finally we visited the Severn Valley Railway at Bridgnorth.
